‘You will be in a state of shock’: Woman loses eye in auto accident
WASHINGTON — A woman who lost an eye in an auto accident has told local television station KTLA she hopes that her story will help other people like her, but the local NBC affiliate said Thursday it was unclear if she was in fact the first person to die in a crash involving a vehicle.
In a statement, KTLA said the station was first told about the woman, who it said had recently married, by her father.
KTLA reported that the woman’s mother was at the scene.
“Her father told KTLA he did not realize the woman was a former beauty queen and had never heard of her before, according to the statement.
KTLSP is investigating the accident, KTLSL said in a statement.
In the statement, the station said the woman had lost her left eye and was in a critical condition.”
We do not know if she had any passengers or if they were passengers in the vehicle that struck her,” the station added.
The station did not specify whether the woman died from the accident or was hospitalized.
KTLsTV said it was investigating the incident.
